IN THE LOOP

So.

We're moving (+said before), and it's going to be rough. However, it'll be easier than it could have been because it's only about 500 feet.

We're staying in The Loop. I never realized how important that was (to me) until we found a suitable apartment that we could afford. The amount of relief that I felt wasn't attributable just to the fact that we had found a place and could stop looking. More than that, it was a sense of belonging to a place and a feeling of being HOME.

314ever... but make mine EDWARDSville.

it's beginning to look a lot like XMAS

which means it's hella crazy and messy around me. Besides being the second worst time of year to move (New Year's is #1), Xmas is also busy for the usual reasons. Thank D that it's only a few hundred feet instead of across town.

also: our Xmas shopping is pretty much finis, which is the equivalent of Tyson knocking Spinx out in the first minute of round one.

BOOM.

-and I promise, pictures are forthcoming.

ame

I forgot how fun it is to play games. Video games. Also board games. And games you make up on the spot with friends. Drinking games, too... but I think that's what makes one forget about the other kinds...

game on.

+ should probably sleep more

Cough cough... hmm...

So these look pretty cool.

I'm not saying they'd make me quit smoking the real thing, but I'm certainly thinking of giving them a shot. Plus, unlike the other e-cigarette companies I've noticed so far, they seem authentic and not so "as seen on TV!"...

this could be a big deal (not just for me)...

the Fam

S, J, Y, K, C, K, M, D, L, M, Y, D, E, H, J, A, W, you know who you are, and you are the goods.

Between late night eggs, cigars and canons, walks to nowhere and dim sum art supply runs... it's been a very distracting weekend (server, remember) in the best way possible.

now I'm going to get a flickr account so that I can make these more interesting.

Velvet Thursday

part of Blue Week- I'll explain in an upcoming post. Happy Thanksgiving to all you (two) readers in cyberland. I'm gonna keep it short and sweet:

I: Cigarettes (not sure I'd still be alive right now if not for these little guys; ironic I know)
II: Coffee (includes all sources of that miracle drug caffeeeeeeeeeeeeene)
III: Sunrise. I've been night owl for too long. It's good to see a familiar face now and then.
IV: mi Familia. This includes all you BBH kids as well as true blood relatives and those that are married to them/around a lot/honorary relatives. (we're Korean so we're all kinda related anyway, and aren't we?)
V: D. part of all of the above, but she deserves her own spot.

Peace love and thank you thank you thank you

Kraken

D+

Below the thunders of the upper deep;

Far far beneath in the abysmal sea,
Her ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About her shadowy sides; above her swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous grot and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the slumbering green.
There hath she lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge seaworms in her sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring she shall rise and on the surface,

Die.

Paint it, BLACK

So as many of you (once I have any readers) know, my Halmoni past this passed Tuesday. She was the best, and you all have done your best to be good to me.

Thank you.

and that's all I'm going to say about that. I'll post a poem that my cousin K suggested:

stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,

prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,

silence the pianos and with muffled drum

bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead

scribbling on the sky the message She is Dead.

put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,

let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

She was my North, my South, my East and West,

my working week and my Sunday rest,

my noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;

i thought that love would last forever: i was wrong.

the stars are not wanted now; put out every one,

pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,

pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;

for nothing now can ever come to any good.

-W. H. Auden

TITLE

I'm not really going to explain it, I just couldn't think of a name for my first post. I plan to post regularly (maybe even once a day), but I also plan to start going to a gym and take yoga classes... so don't set the bar too high for me.

Better LOUD than too late...
